"The video work the rumbling from distant shores sends me to sleep was produced during the period of the first german Corona lockdown in the spring of 2020.

Initially driven by thoughts on immunity and borders in regards to both the body and the nation state, the emphasis quickly shifted towards motives of solitude, helplessness as well as confidence and hope as part of the big uncertainty of solidary isolation, trying to indulge neither in dystopian nor utopian delusions.

The body of the island formation is a scaled up 3d-scan of cooked egg white."
