The saasfee*pavillon is an independent artist-run space for contemporary art, media art, and experimental music in Frankfurt am Main, founded and operated by the artist collective saasfee*. Established in 2008, the pavilion has become a longstanding platform for emerging artistic positions and interdisciplinary cultural production.
The origins of the collective’s practice date back to the early 1990s, when its members began developing independent exhibition formats, temporary spaces, and collaborative projects within the context of emerging digital culture. Early engagements with new media, electronic music, and virtual environments laid the foundation for an ongoing curatorial and self-organized practice that continues to shape the pavilion today.
Through exhibitions, performances, concerts, and discursive formats, saasfee*pavillon presents artistic practices that engage with contemporary conditions of technology, media, sound, and social space. The program brings together emerging and established artists working across disciplines, with a particular focus on experimental approaches and expanded forms of exhibition-making.
Collaborations with institutions, independent initiatives, and international artists continue to extend the network surrounding the pavilion, connecting local artistic scenes with broader international contexts and contemporary discourse.
